Plant Based Papermaking

Explore our connections to plants and place as you learn how to transform wild, cultivated, and fermented plant fibers into handmade papers. Leave the class with sheets of freshly made paper and the knowledge to create a simple papermaking setup at home.

Intro to ECO Printing & Dyeing

Discover plant materials cultivated, gathered from the wild, and remnants from the farmers market/produce aisle that create color as we experiment with printing/dyeing on silk.   This 3 hour class will give you a chance to dip your toe in the water of this process. Think in terms of muted earthy tones in a range of colors – experiment with pattern made by leaves and basic bundling techniques.  Leave the class with a dyed scarf and sample dyed silk swatches to use for reference when you experiment on your own.  (A day long version of this class is also available).
